What kind of success did we have? In 2003 I took a job at a Junior High program that was so down trodden that the team had NEVER had more than 2 wins in a single season. The team had scored only 8 ppg the previous season. I showed my new assistant coaches (all of whom had never heard of the double wing offense) the offense and we went to work with the 17 kids that showed up to play. We played tough in every game but one that first year,  Unfortunately we lost our star fullback and Mike linebacker but still managed to score(a Cougar best) 26ppg and posted the schools first ever non- losing season. We went 4-4 losing one game by 2 points. We followed our taste of success by running wild in 2004. We had a larger roster (as many as 23 kids, finished with 19 healthy) and scored( 32 ppg) A POINT A MINUTE in 2004. We set many school records, most offense, most yards gained, most rushing yards, most touchdowns, most rushing touchdowns, fewest turnovers, fewest punts(1), most wins, fewest losses, best average per rush, best avg per play. Largest margin of victory (50-0), highest point differential per win. Two players scored 14 touchdowns each and we rushed for over 2000 yards in 7 games. Interesting to note too is that our youth program was also using my double wing. They were 15-4 in those last two seasons with it after having been 0-16 with  multiple pro offenses the prior 2 seasons.  Clearly, my double wing offense made an impact on this program.- Coach Calande
