2006 Double Wing Clinic(3dvds)- this double wing clinic focuses on the core double wing, includes chalk talk, discussion, on stage walk throughs and demonstrations. There is also a good deal of "video of a video" (the camera focused on the TV while we were watching and discussing highlights). Some of the information  included here, ie, the wedge demo, the explanation of "eyes inside" and the effect of the tight splits,  will really  open your eyes to the benefits of the dw offense. Includes demos of fb/qb mesh and more

2006 46 Gambler Clinic(4 dvds)- showing white board explanation, discussion, & best of all coaches running thru scenarios, drills & reactions to the 46 Gambler.

Here's some feedback from Coaches who either attended or bought the Clinic DVDs...

"I spent the whole weekend watching the clinic dvd's. AWESOME!!!!!!!
The DW was informative. The 46 was awesome.
The DW: I learned to have my guard look for first ugly to Safety on power.(makes sense)
The 46: I learned from all the drills. (Incredible)
GOOD WQRK!!!! Worth a Goldmine!!!"-Don

"What a clinic! Great Job Coach Steve.DW clinic on Saturday was pure smashmouth DW. Loved it. Sundays  46 Gambler "Hit Squad" Clinic was a big help to my whole staff. The 46 "Hit Squad"manual was done nice. Coach Steve thanks, I got alot of new ideas on both sides of the ball from the clinic. Your 46 Gambler makes alot of sense to me,very easy to install. Our Defense will know all their jobs showing it your way.(SIMPLE) "Cover your man not the real estate", was a EYE opener for me. The boys will hear that saying all season long(LOL)!!!..."-Mike

"I attended Steve's 46 Gambler Clinic yesterday. It was excellent. A typical Calande "hands-on" workout clinic...lol. BTW, that is a great way of learning. Steve put's on a top notch clinic, is a great host, and presented alot of good stuff. Thank you Steve"-Tom

"Outstanding job with the DW clinic this past Saturday. You did a great job and the atmosphere was awesome. It's great to be with other DW coaches who are so passionate about what they do. I came away with so many excellent ideas for the upcoming season.... Thanks again, I really plan to make it a yearly trip as long as you continue to present them. I heard you are thinking of another in June -I'll drag my HC to that one if you do it. (He was at WVU this pastweekend) Thanks again - Coach Morgan, Brunswick High Railroaders"

"Just received my 7 DVD set from Steve's April DW Smashmouth and 46 Gambler Coaching Clinic on Friday.  I finished watching all 7 DVDs by Saturday night...I couldn't put them away.  I have seen a lot of clinics and clinic videos, even hosted a clinic myself with Steve last year, but this is far and away the best yet.  The group of coaches at this year's clinic was superior and hence so were the questions and scenarios that were brought up in discussion.  The use of hands-on particpatory demonstrations is a great laboratory exercise that enhances and brings to life the x's and o's chalk talk and discussion... the DVD set is awesome...Thanks Steve for another great clinic..."-Dave

2005 Newmanstown Double Wing Clinic DVD set

I hosted my second double wing clinic in tiny Newmanstown Pennsylvania in May of 2005. I detailed and diagramed my  plays, theories and philosophies and had many great on stage demonstrations. I believe the onstage presentations, demos and walk thrus are extremely valuable to all double wing coaches, especially those new to the ideas behind the double wing. A picture is worth a thousand words and seeing the tight splits, how we form the double teams, the wedge or perform quarterback footwork is priceless.  The information on attacking and placing defenders in conflict is very useful for tactical play calling. No grab bagging here. There are many valuable questions/answer segments and a few guest speakers too! - Coach Calande

"Steve,
I had a great time and got a lot out of the clinic...the best one that I've
attended. The hands-on stuff was the best (although I'm a little stiff today
from the drills and ride home). Thanks for all of your hard work. I have
lots to think about before the season starts, but you helped make up my mind
on a number of things that will make it easier to teach my kids the DW (ie,
FB is a lead blocking on counters, keeping the backside assignments the
same, same with trap, I don't see any reason why I can't or shouldn't pull
that backside tackle, etc.). The little coaching points on the DW and 46
were awesome as well. I have to admit that I just didn't understand the 3
tech at all...knew the alignment but couldn't piece it together until your
clinic...same with the DEs responsibilities, until I saw it, I wasn't
coaching it correctly..great D drills as well. Thanks again"-Rick

2004 DoubleWing/Gambler Clinic Feedback

"Steve~Great job!! The clinic was excellent. I really enjoyed the drills; very, very, very good stuff. It was nice to meet you and everyone who attended. FYI, I was trying to watch/learn how you "coached" these drills, as much as how you designed the drills. Your a very good teacher--that’s a major plus for you--and I bet that this is where alot of your success comes from. I am no teacher, but, I believe, that its how we teach (coach) that determines our success to a large part. And...Nick...he has a TON of energy! His program is VERY fortunate to have him, with his enthusiasm and heart for the game. The offer's on the table Nick:) Also, I can see why you played the one kid at QB; he’s got a great attitude. Same with Tony. Oh...almost forgot...you must be the only guy who runs full-contact clinics--lol. But, learning by doing is the best way. Thanks again. I really appreciate your hosting this clinic and putting in the time to teach it. I’ll send you some ideas I thought of on drive home last night"-unknown

"Coach,I would like to offer a work of thanks for hosting the football clinic on Saturday. I have pulled out many subtle teaching techniques that are critical to running the double wing to perfection. I am sure that this seminar will make me a better coach that will produce more knowledgeable and competent players being sent to the high school level. The DW system is very sound and obviously hard to stop. It was very motivating to see you live and breathe high school football. Thanks again for all your efforts....P.S. The run throughs on the floor were especially informative on the precision required from everyone to run the plays to perfection."-Andy

"Steve,
I enjoyed your defensive clinic very much! I only wish I could have made it on Saturday as well. I have to admit you know your defense very well and the guys at the clinic were all great! The young man named Nick, is that ndestafano? I know I was excited to come home and share the information you showed all of us. I especially loved the installation drills that help you get the defense installed? My new favorite word is LEVERAGE!
Since you taped the clinic how can I get a copy of the chalk talk and the drill installation period?
I would like to get out for your next clinic but hopefully I won't log 450 miles on 2 hours of sleep.
It was nice to place some faces with names of guys that frequent the boards.
Thanks again!"-Frank

"I DUG IT! Steve's clinic was like the old Colt 45 Malt Liquor theme: "A Completely Unique Experience." On Saturday, Steve showed us he has some unique ideas about blocking and play design that you won't see from any of the "big three" (Markham, Valottin or Wyatt). He showed us some stuff that made us all go Whoooooa! On Sunday, he answered all my questions (why? how? who?) about teaching and running the 46. Man, the hands-on participative drills were eye opening. Who knows what he'll think of for next year. Steve, you should do a presentation at the DW Symposium next year. Symposium organizers make sure we have plenty of room for the demostations. Thanks a lot Steve, and like I said, I DUG IT!"-Greg

" I have cuts and bruises all over the place! My trapping shoulder is all purple from colliding with you and Jeff. I'm fragile...lol. But I completely agree. It was a great and UNIQUE clinic. I learned a lot about breaking down film and looking for different things that Steve was pointing out. I was familiar with the X's and O's but the demonstrations and hands-on approach to this stuff was something I don't think I could have gotten anywhere else. The last 4 hours or so of the Gambler clinic were priceless, stuff that you don't get on any tape, but you really got to see how the defense is supposed to come together. So Steve, I echo Greg's words...I DUG IT!"-Nick

2005 Hanover Massachusettes Clinic Feedback

*Dvd set not available....

"Steve,
The feedback from the clinic has been great...To me the best part of the clinic
was the interactive portions where we
talked through various things and shared experiences, scenarios, etc.  No
amount of reading or research can ever provide the value that type of
exchange holds.  I thought the information presented was well organized and
easy to follow.  I saw a lot of my guys taking notes and several of them
have suggested holding additional coaches sessions to run through drills,
practice schedules, etc.   I think this is a clear indication that they have
bought into the package.  I may have told you that one of the guys who is
with the 12 year old Peewees borrowed my copy of Vallatton's book to take on
vacation with him...(Why am I hearing the repeated refrain from Queen's
"Another One Bites the Dust"...Den...Den...Den...and another one...).
I want to thank you for taking the time to come up here and help me out, my
coaches, and our program.  It was a great experience for all of us.   You
are to be commended for your unswerving willingness to share your knowledge
and experience to raise the level of coaching at every level of youth and
scholastic football.  Your commitment to your craft and your thirst for
innovation and improvement are exemplary and laudable.  I look forward to
continuing our discussion in the future...
Again, thank you for all of your help and the clinic...
Best regards,Dave"
